Both can provide access to a paid plan, but account ownership, deliverables, and usage habits differ. Decide whether you need to keep your existing account or can use a new one before ordering.

Activate the plan on your own account

The subscription is added to an account you already use, so existing conversations, workspaces, and habits remain with that account. The product page states the account requirements and the order flow.

Best for someone with an accessible account who wants to keep using it.

Buy a new account with the plan enabled

The order delivers a new account with the selected subscription already enabled, plus usage instructions. It is separate from your original account; confirm sign-in access, the plan, and the expiration date after delivery.
